FAQ for LaserPro

Q:Can LaserPro cut metal?

A:LaserPro can only engrave on metal surfaces such as anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and painted metal and cannot cut metal.

Q: How does LaserPro engrave on white ceramic, transparent glass, and transparent plastic surfaces?

A:Before engraving, you need to use oil-based markers or paint to color the surface of these objects. After the engraving is completed, use alcohol to clean off the color of the object's surface.

Q:Why is the positioning of the camera calibrated by LaserPro not accurate when engraving some objects?

A:Camera calibration is to calibrate the size of the plane of the calibration jam by the camera. When the placed object is tall, you need to recalibrate the camera.

Q:Why can't the computer control LaserPro work?

A: Check whether the driver is installed correctly.

Check whether the USB cable is connected to the machine and the computer.

Check whether the serial port is successfully connected.

Check the power supply of the adapter. If the indicator light of the ranging sensor under the laser is on, the power supply is regular.

Restart the software and reconnect the serial port.

Check whether the wiring of each motor is connected.

Q:How to set the image size loaded by the software?

A:Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out the picture, drag the picture to the engraving position; you can set the size and position of the picture under the "Adjustment" column on the "File" page in the software.

Q:What does pixel density mean, and what effect does this parameter have on engraving?

A:Pixel density refers to the number of laser scans within one millimeter. The larger the number, the more laser scans, the darker the laser engraving effect, and the longer the working time. The pixel density parameters can be set according to different materials and engraving requirements. Generally, 10px/mm is used for wood engraving and 30px/mm for anodized aluminum and stainless steel.

Q:How to set the appropriate engraving speed and laser power parameters?

A:The recommended parameters can be selected directly according to the material name in the software. If the recommended parameters are not good enough for engraving, you can adjust the engraving speed and laser power in the software according to your needs or place a large piece of this material to use the speed in the software within the engraving range of the machine Test with the power test function, and finally select the parameters with the best engraving effect.

Q:What is the function of the offset and sink parameters in Gcode settings?

A:❶ Offset: The sensitivity of the autofocus sensor to different materials is different. If you need a very accurate focusing effect of a certain material, you can adjust this offset parameter. For detailed adjustment methods, please refer to the official video.

❷ Sinking: When cutting thicker plates, you need to lower the laser focal length to 1/2 the thickness of the plate to cut through the plate, so you need to set the sinking parameters according to the thickness of the plate.

Q:What functions of the "Cycle" and "Decline" are under the sending Gcode file?

A:Cycle: Repeat the engraving work, apply to some work that needs to repeatedly deepen the engraving effect, or cut thicker plates multiple times.

Decline: It is effective when the number of cycles is more than one. After the engraving is completed, the Z-axis will drop by a set distance, which is generally used for cutting thicker plates.

Q:What is the function of the sensor offset parameter under autofocus?

A:There is a specific position deviation between the sensor's ranging point and the laser emitting point. This parameter is used to adjust the accuracy of the sensor's ranging position.

Q:What is the function of the test speed and power button

A:It is used to test the engraving parameters of a certain material simply. After pressing the button, LaserPro will engrave the squares on the material at different speeds and powers and the corresponding speed and power. You can directly view the engraving effect and select the most suitable engraving parameters for the material.

Q:How to use the fourth axis to rotate engraving?

A: Insert the fourth axis driver into the motherboard

Connect the fourth axis motor

Place the fourth axis within the engraving range, then place the cylindrical sculpture on the fourth axis roller.

Enable the roller mode in the setting page of the computer software.

Load the image, place the picture in a suitable position through the camera preview or print range preview function.

Set the correct engraving parameters, and start the fourth axis rotation engraving.
