Think Safety First

LaserPro thinks safety a priority. The blue light protection shield can greatly reduce harmful blue light and protect your eyes. Furthermore, we reserved smoke vents on the shield, users can install a smoke exhaust pipe according to the creating demand.

Cause there is a hood, it would be thick amock and heavy smell without the smoke exhauster. It's relatively safe with it as the installation of custom one is easy. Installation can be cumbersome if customers purchase third-party products on their own.

Just the box (mine didn’t come with exhaust system)

Frames were bent, oddly cut and just overall poorly machined. Most damage was done to dull blade/rushed production. Corners were smashed from drops prior to packaging. The uneven cuts made corners impossible to square, had to use a drill to extend slots to get the best corners possible. It said it had a precut area for exhaust, it does not.

Honest Review -LH

Fit and Finish: The blue blocker yellow panels work great. The laser cut or punch slots to fix them to the frame are great as they allow for a little bit of maneuvering into the space. This is where the good ends though. The metal frame is cheap. As the laser engraver came assembled on an extruded aluminum frame, my expectation was that the Shield box would be using the same materials. Instead, it was L-brackets that were not square and that looked like they were cut instead of sawed. This left the edges rolled up and very sharp. Likewise, because the brackets were not square the unit ended up not being square and getting everything aligned was a very difficult challenge. My recommendations to SparkMaker3d is to use or combine their laser engraver unit and the shield box as a single unit. This provides a larger engraving surface and protection for the user right out of the box. If that is not an option then extruded aluminum the same as the laser engraver would make the price worth it.

Documentation or Assembly Instructions: NONE. I had to reverse engineer and image on SparkMaker3d's website to see how it was put together. Instructions need to be published.

The exhaust system: This is over priced and not worth $70 or $20. It is a cheap 120mm computer fan with a two prong molex connector. The plastic unit that connects the fan to the yellow protective panel is the only piece worth it is a simple ducting guide. The flexible duct is a simple 4in or 100mm dryer duct. Something that is far, far cheaper. Now the exhaust system does work and that is what matters.

These are two products that needs improvements and revisions in pricing. For the price of the laser shield box, I could have built my own using extruded aluminum frame and still had money left over for a higher quality exhaust system. As SparkMaker3d is a startup company, it is very clear that their money was invested into their laser engraver product. I understand, however, in the future should they continue to build success, this won't be tolerated from future customers.
